Get some FPS numbers!!! COMMON!! ;^P Been monkeying with this site myself. (But not nearly your build.. trying to stay under 1K.. cause Im a cheap a$$)
http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/Gamer_Dragon_9500/
I think I got your build close.. but not exactly..(did you get the Sniper case?) and 900W supply instead of your 850.. same Mobo/Graphics etc. Not sure what HD you went with.. but they have a 64 GB solid drive.. Great IDEA btw, and 4GB of 2,000 Mhrz Ram.. with those differences it came in at $1528.. I tried finding the parts myself and building it cheaper but couldnt.

| That's cool. Did you get it yet or are you waiting to get it delivered? I got the Sniper case and I got the latest WD Velociraptor 600GB HD with SATA3 interface. It loads fast and I only really need this one drive for everything. I was thinking about the SSD's but I would have had to buy a separate storage drive considering the low capacity and then been really careful about what I install on the SSD. I will try to get FPS data with Fraps next time I play.

Nah Big Mac.. Im still toying with the options. I think I can get it down to about $1200 including a 24" Asus monitor..but thats about it! Im gonna get the SSD.. I have a external 1TB drive for photos etc.. I like the idea that if the kids ever take it over, it forces them to be stingy on installs.. (I know.. I can always add another drive.. but dont tell them!!)
I also heard it makes a HUGE difference on load times etc.. but TomsHardware.com really muddys the waters with those confusing graphs..... LOL!

I tried to send you a PM Mac.. can you help??
What are your opinions on buying used??? I found a guy on Craigslist that is selling an Alienware rig.. check this out:
http://indianapolis.craigslist.org/sys/1780380775.html
I got him down to $1,500. I told him I needed to see all the manuals/CDs etc. and I was going to opent the case to inspect.. and rummage through the properties to make sure everything matches.
Its only a single 5870.. not a dual.. but still. WORTH IT??? HELP!

Sorry Weezle, I've been away on vacation this week. I cannot send PMs from the FSSF site. I get the debug error 503.
Sounds ok. I generally do not buy electronics used. The Raptor drives are only $200 apiece. Without the disks for the games you will be out of luck if you need to reformat the drives. I'd wonder if someone else has used the product keys for online play. Are they from BitTorrent?
What does an equivalent Aliens Ware go for now with the same specs?
I'll keep looking at the specs and I'll see what I spent on my rig.

| And the single 5870 works just great for me at 1680 x 1050. Usually better than any lesser ATI cards CrossFired, especially considering the price. Find out what the 28" monitor runs for a native resolution. If it is above 1920 x 1200 then you might need a second 5870 to play the most graphically challenging games on high details at the native resolution.

| Hes balking at giving me the service code to check the validity of the Alienware. I just get the feeling hes fried something by OCing too much. Why wouldnt you want me to ensure that its kosher before popping? Bleh.
